If you have any important data in you file or in any folder you should be hide this file or folder. you don't want someone can see anything which you don't like them to view, and hiding of file and folder is the best option to do this.

Steps to hide file or folder in windows 7 -

Right click on any file or folder which you want to hide in windows 7.
Now go to property option.
In the property option you can see "Hidden" checkbox check this box.
and now select apply.
When you select apply a new pop up windows will open select one radio button option as per your requirement.
Now select "ok".

You can see the specific folder or file which you want hide is hidden now. When you want this file or folder will appear as before just uncheck the checkbox of "Hidden".
