Why are there limits to email attachments sizes in some email provider and not for others?

Conclusion On Email attachment limit - Every Email provider limit the size of the email and the email attachments which you send from your email account, there are different size of email to send on different email provider. Here i discribe you about the limits of the email and the size of email attachments.

I am using four email provider's services with my emails and they are -

Window Live hotmail
Yahoo Mail
Gmail
AOL

But sometimes when i try to send email to the other email address from one of the email provider with my email account email can not be sent successfully either because the size issues of files in email attachments regarding to email provider or because of the file format not been supported by the email provider. Can you tell me Why are there limits to email attachments sizes in some email provider and not for others?

Yes you are right it may be possible that you can send email with your email provider like windows live hotmail or yahoo mail with email attachments only when you have under the given limit of the email provider.

Here are some of the issues regarding to the email services which tend them to limit the email attachments with size.

When you send any email with attachments it uses the bandwidth or your internet connection and as well as the bandwidth of the email provider also. Which may make the server working slow if everyone on internet use to send any size of files.
Nothing comes in free if you are using internet then you have to pay the bill to the respective ISP, same happen with the email provider also they also need to store the email attachments on their web mail server and for this they need secondary storage, which make them to limit the size of the email attachments.

You can store 25 GB data on BlueMail.
The limit of the BlueMail Email attachments Is 25 MB.

You can store 10 GB data on BlueTie.
The limit of the BlueMail Email attachments Is 25 MB.

You can store 1 GB data on Excite.
The limit of the Excite Email attachments Is 25 MB.

You can store 25 MB - 15 GB data on FastMail.FM.
The limit of the FastMail.FM Email attachments Is 10 MB - 50 MB.

You can store 7.4 GB and counting data on Gmail.
The limit of the Gmail Email attachments Is 25 MB.

You can store 5 GB(initial, with "ever-growing storage") data on Windows Live Hotmail.
The limit of the Windows Live Hotmail Email attachments Is 10 MB - 20 MB.
