How long should email take to be delivered to email recipients?

Conclusion On Delivery of email- Processing of email from one email account to another is very fast and quick but sometimes due to various reason email can be received by email recipients with some delay that delay can be an hour or may be goes to days.

I have sent some important emails to other recipients, but they said they didn't get the emails from my email address from 15 days. I am sending email to them each and every day but they are not receiving some email from those emails. Is there any delay happen regarding to the emails which i have sent? And if yes then how much time those email take to deliver to those recipients? And yes still i didn't have any bounce emails from their email address so i can know that the emails are not sent to them correctly and they are not been able to receive my emails.

Delivery of email

There are lots of reasons because email may or may not be delivered to the given email address of recipient. It may also possible that the email delivered to the recipients with some delay. Delay basically occurs because email has to go to the destination end with going to the mail server and those mail server mainly cause the delay problem.

First we will let the most common reasons why email take delay and then we will discuss about the timing of delay like why emails receive within minuts, then hour and then day.

Common reasons for delaying an email

Mail Servers - This is the most common reasons because of email has been received by some delay time. Sometimes it may be possible that mail server block in dead lock position and it is not possible at the particular time to deliver the email to the other mail server or email recipient by the specific mail server.
Spam Emails - It may be possible that your email contaon some keywords which define the particular email is a kind of spam so it may require some more time to deliver to the email recipients.

Those are main two erasons because email received by recipients with some delay time.

Now we will discuss about the reason because email delay by minuts, hour or days.

Reasons Because Email may deliver with some delay with minuts

Mail Server - Again the same reason because email may be delay by Minuts to reach the destination mail server. Which can cause email to received by email recipients with some delay of minuts.
Connection failure of Web Server This is rare but it may be possible that the web server of email provider has been down for some time so it make some delay. May be minut or for some hours.

Reasons Because Email may deliver with some delay by Hours

Mail Servers Because of the long distance it can be possible that the mail server not been able to deliver email with some seconds or minuts, it may take some hours too.
Spam emails - If your or recipients email provider think that the specific email may be a spam email then it take some time to detect and when it clear the process and the email provider know the email is secure then it reach to the email recipients with some hours of delay.

Reasons Because Email may deliver with some delay by Days

This situation is not that common but it can be possible when the email sender's email provider send the email and it takes very long time in the queue on email provider of email sender's after when it send from the queue it will reach the email recipients email address.

Those are some of the reasons which can make email to delay for short or long time.
